Part-time. Remote (or Somerville, MA).

tl;dr: We're a growing company with a small team that needs to focus our energy on high-impact work. As we grow, various operational tasks naturally build up, diverting our team from their core responsibilities. We're looking for an Ops Associate who is a master at task and time management to take the reins of these operations and execute them intelligently with a high degree of autonomy.

Who we are

Tuple is an app that lets developers pair program while working remotely. Think of it a bit like super-powered Zoom screen-sharing, used by developers who are writing code together in real-time from the comfort of home.

Folks switch to Tuple because the screen-sharing is extremely high quality (important when viewing source code together) and the remote control is seamless and low-latency (important when controlling someone else's computer via the Internet).

We founded the company five years ago because we disliked the existing pairing tools, and believed that by focusing on this particular use-case, we could create something developers would love.

Turns out we were pretty much right: we've grown to millions in ARR and tens of thousands of paid users in five years without any outside funding or full-time sales help.

Role overview

At Tuple, we're proud of curating a team of talented folks who are experts at their craft. As we've grown, the complexity of our operations has increased, leading to a proliferation of tasks that, while vital, tend to pull people's attention away from their most high-leverage work. This is where you come in.

As our Ops Associate, you'll be the engine that keeps our operations running smoothly. This isn't your run-of-the-mill virtual assistant job; we're looking for someone extraordinary. You'll work closely with our entire team, taking tasks off their plates and handling them efficiently and effectively. Your work will directly contribute to helping the team focus on what they do best.

These tasks will range from things that take a few minutes to a few hours; here are some examples:

  • Setting us up in enterprise customer vendor portals
  • Chasing down upcoming and overdue invoices
  • Filling out security questionnaires
  • Managing our Make.com no-code integrations between internal tools
  • Posting company announcements to our Twitter account
  • Posting changelogs for new releases to our marketing site
  • Managing and reporting on PPC Google and Twitter Ads campaigns
  • Assisting with organizing team off-sites and travel
  • Reviewing and categorizing expenses that our bookkeeper can't figure out

Since the number of these tasks has a natural ebb and flow, this will start as a part-time role.

Who you'll work with

Initially, you'll report to and work directly with our COO, Stephen.

He's an expert at at managing lots of tasks at once using the Getting Things Done methodology, and you'll need to handle this work with a similar level of organization, follow-through, and effectiveness.

About you

  • You're a master of task and time management.
  • You're exceptionally organized and can juggle lots of parallel work.
  • You're an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • You're proactive and can work independently, taking the initiative to solve problems as they arise.
  • You're comfortable working with a remote team and have the skills to do so effectively.

Why you might want to work with us

  • We're a small but growing team, so your work will have a significant impact.
  • Tuple is self-funded with a clear vision and a strong focus on our team's well-being.
  • You'll have the opportunity to help define this role and make it your own.
  • You can work remotely as long as you're within 4 hours of Boston's time zone (EST).

Why you might not want to work with us

  • As a remote company, communication is key. If you're not comfortable working and coordinating tasks remotely, this might not be the best fit.
  • You'll be managing a wide variety of tasks, some of which might be outside your usual comfort zone.
  • We're a growing company, so change is a constant. You'll need to be adaptable and open to evolving responsibilities.

Compensation

$25-$40 per hour, depending on experience.
